Love is Lost

When you're lost how can love save?
With your heart in your throat, to which you're a slave
Who is more lost when you lose yourself in love
The love you lost, or denial of losing what you're void of
This useless pain teaches us again and again
You can chase the sin until the rainbow turns back to rain
Never again, your heart echos as you repeat the same
But to forget about you, and remember us is love's game
This is one lesson I never want to learn nor can I forget
For time stood still when our souls first met
Tears of joy to wash away love's scar
The same love that brought you near, and still so far
Who is to blame when love breaks your heart
For it was not love that drove us apart
Afraid to dream of you but so scared to forget
Lost time is all that's left of regret
No goodbyes but just a soft hello
And a wish that our love was still so
